Unlike traditional eyebrow coloring, eyebrow embroidery involves embedding lines to create the illusion of fuller eyebrows. Wang YuHan has translated this technique into the design of the salon studio, using both horizontal and diagonal steel bars to represent the various embroidery techniques, such as dotting, crossing, lifting, and slanting.
The studio's unique feature is the installation of filigree walls, which not only provide a sense of privacy but also create a cozy, home-like atmosphere. This design element addresses the common fear of confined spaces, ensuring that clients feel comfortable and at ease during their visit.
Measuring 6000mm in width, 8250mm in depth, and 3600mm in height, the Moore Face Salon Studio is a compact yet functional space. The use of epoxy, wood, and stainless steel materials adds to the studio's modern and sophisticated aesthetic.
In addition to offering eyebrow embroidery services, the studio also functions as a makeup classroom. To accommodate this dual purpose, a universal rail door has been installed, seamlessly combining the sofa area with the working space.
The Moore Face Salon Studio was completed in April 2016 in Taipei, following a project duration of three months. Throughout the design process, Wang YuHan conducted extensive research to ensure that the working environment for eyebrow embroidery technicians met their specific needs. The inclusion of mirrors to reflect light and provide even illumination is a testament to this attention to detail.
One of the main challenges faced during the design process was creating a sense of tranquility and a domestic atmosphere within a limited budget and space. By cleverly incorporating an activity and folding door, the studio successfully alleviates the feeling of being enclosed while maintaining privacy.
The interior materials, featuring dots and different lines, are reminiscent of the tattoo technique used in eyebrow embroidery. This cohesive design approach creates a harmonious and visually appealing space for both technicians and clients.
The Moore Face Salon Studio, with its unique design and attention to detail, was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. This prestigious accolade recognizes the studio's outstanding creativity and resourcefulness, as well as its contribution to improving the quality of life for its clients.
